Dear Donald –

You will forgive my absent-mindedness,
but I can’t seem to recall whether I sent
the letter I wrote to you about “Flies”, and I
want to be sure you know how much I like
the poem. For me, “Flies” is one of the
best poems you have ever written, which
is saying plenty. I’m just stunned
by it.

As I said in my first letter (did it
ever get to you?), somewhere, Kate Wells
is smiling.
