The idea for this project began with an invitation from the United States Artists (USA) foundation to create a fund-raising site for an artistic project. Thanks to the generous support of USA and the donors that contributed to this project, Colby College Special Collections, Milne Special Collections and Archives at the University of New Hampshire, and Wesley McNair were able to participate in a cooperative effort to digitize and make accessible online McNair’s letters to an important mentor, Donald Hall, and Hall’s letters to McNair, from the mid-1970s to the publication of McNair’s first book of poems and its critical reception in 1984.
