Robert “Bob” Thomas

(May 28th, 1914 – February 10, 2000)

Thomas served as an assistant treasurer for the Waterville Urban Renewal Authority from 1961 to 1978, residing at 29 May Street. Thomas was born in Brazil and then moved to Indiana where he attended elementary and middle school. Thomas and his family then moved to Lewiston, which is where he graduated from Lewiston High School. After high school, Thomas participated in a supervisory development program at Rutgers University in N.J. Thomas worked for Central Maine Power Co. for 42 years and retired in 1978 as district line foreman for the Waterville area district. He served as the Ward I councilor and as the chairman of the Board of Alderman for two years. He also served on several councils and board committees including the Waterville Senior High School Building Committee. Thomas was also active in the Waterville Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Masons.
