Raymond Lemieux

(December 18, 1910 – October 14, 1984)

Lemieux was the secretary for the Urban Renewal Authority from 1961 until 1978. Lemieux lived on 15 Western Ave. in Waterville and was well known for his love of sports. He was a co-founder and director of the Waterville Youth Hockey Program for 27 years and was a member of the 1936 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. Lemieux was also a World War II veteran and member of the Bourque-Lanigan American Legion and the Forest J. Pare Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lemieux worked for the Federal Bank on Main Street for more than 37 years and retired as vice-president of Federal Trust Co. He was the secretary of Waterville Area Industrial Park Cooperation, secretary of the L’Association de’Pargnes, and a member of Waterville Country Club.
