From 1968-1969, Marden served as a mayor for the town of Waterville, living at 40 Morrill Avenue. Marden received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law. For employment, Marden was a partner in the firm of Marden, Dubord, Bernier & Stevens, where he practiced for 30 years on 222 Main Street. In 1964, Marden had to disqualify himself in the Urban Renewal Cause involving Urban Renewal Authority seeking to destroy numerous Temple Court buildings after the firm of Marden, Dubord, Bernier and Chandler represented the Urban Renewal Authority in the case, which caused some controversy to surround Marden.
Throughout his life he was an active military member. Marden served in the Army, the Army Reserve, and the Maine Army National Guard where he served as Deputy Adjutant General in the early 1990’s. Marden is currently a superior court justice for the Kennebec County Superior Court in Maine and resides in Augusta, Maine.
