Bradford Wall

(May 29, 1896 – September 9, 1981)

Wall served as chairman of the Urban Renewal Authority from the 1961 until 1978. Similar to Paul Mitchell, Wall was extremely active in the Urban Renewal process as he worked with Paul Mitchell to handle many of the Urban Renewal issues and tasks. Wall often talked to members of the newspaper to address specific projects that were to come in the future such as the purchasing of land or department stores like Zayre’s. Mitchell and Wall often worked together on the most important issues, such as addressing the federal Housing and Urban Development officials in New York to discuss Waterville’s Urban Renewal plans.

Wall lived on 14 Dalton Street and was an active member of the Waterville community. Wall worked for Scott Paper Co. as superintendent of the logwood for many years until he retired in 1961. After his retirement Wall became chairman of the community chest and began his involvement in Urban Renewal. Wall also served in the U.S. Navy during World War I and was a member of the Bourque Lanigan American Legion Post in Waterville.
