HIGHLIGHTED COLLECTIONS

EAR portrait by LCP
1916 portrait of Edwin Arlington Robinson by Lilla Cabot Perry. This iconic painting graces our main reading room, the Robinson Room.

Some of the threads that tie our collections together are shared provenance, physical format, content and time period.

Our collection of Edwin Arlington Robinson materials is a prime example of interconnectedness. Major donors for the Robinson Collection – H Collamore Bacon, Ruth Robinson Nivison and Margaret Perry – facilitated the acquisitions of associated literary collections.

  • Lilla Cabot Perry
  • Thomas Sergeant Perry
  • Harold Trowbridge Pulsifer
  • Laura E Richards

These collections resonate with our Robinson Collection in terms of literary genre (American poetry), format (personal library, letters and manuscripts) and time period (late Victorian-early 20th century).
