Robinson recruited both Franklin F.C. Lee (Peking) and Lincoln S. Lee (Tientsin) to Colby. He recruited both of them while doing YMCA work in Shanghai. Robinson was responsible for sending two of the five Chinese students who attended Colby in the 1920s. He believed a Colby education would equip Chinese youth to serve their country.
