During his years with Yale-in-China at Hsiang-Ya Medical College, he co-authored a considerable number of medical research reports with other local doctors, covering not only the physical condition of the Chinese at the time but also the health issues of other foreign missionaries or staff in China. These reports also reflected the living conditions of the Chinese in Changsha at that time.
