What it is:
Virtual Reality (also known as VR for short) is the method of exploring a 3D virtual space using screens placed in a headset. This headset also comes with two controllers that can be used to manipulate and maneuver around the space you are exploring.
The VR headset in the Mule Works lab is the HTC Vive made by the Valve Corporation. The Vive comes with two cameras that can are mounted in the MuleWorks VR space to allow physical movements to be registered.
How to get started:
VR programs can be accessed through Steam VR, Valve’s software distribution platform. Additionally, you can explore spaces and models created through Unity, a 3D modelling program.
After a brief training session with a Mule Works tutor, you’ll be all set to explore other worlds in VR and start creating your own worlds!
