What it is:
Laser Cutting is a process of transforming a digital object into a physical one. The cutting done in Mule Works is achieved using a Full Spectrum laser cutter, which safely cuts with a sealed CO2 laser tube.
Laser cutting has been used to create etched designs, puzzles, artwork, keychains, signage, display stands, and many more ideas.
How to get started:
Come into the lab during our regular hours. During most of the hours, we have a trained staff member who will provide the necessary training and supervision.
When starting laser cutting, Thingiverse is a helpful website to find models that are ready to print. To prepare your cut, use Retina Engrave — a program found on the Mule Works computers.
