Anything but Precious
“Being cappuccino-swilling yuppies is what they called us when we moved here.”
“Cafe Miranda: Anything but Precious” delves into the growth and unique qualities of Cafe Miranda, which is located in Rockland, Maine. The documentary explores how Chef/Owner Kerry Altiero brought the first farm-to-table restaurant to Maine, before the trend took off in other cities like Portland, and why he believes fresh local ingredients are central to the restaurant’s quality. However, the large, seasonal and culturally diverse menu is not the restaurant’s only asset. Cafe Miranda has also become a widely loved restaurant because of its edgy and eclectic environment and staff, and the documentary captures this through interviews and a deeper look into what goes on in their open kitchen.
