I am a philosophy professor at Colby College, Waterville, Maine, USA. My website features general information and links about my research and projects, drafts of my published and forthcoming articles, and information about my teaching.
My work is divided between two primary fields, Environmental Philosophy and Continental (European) Philosophy from Kant to the present, and I continue to publish, research, and teach courses in both of these areas.
I participate in some unique programs at Colby, including the growing Environmental Humanities Initiative, which hosted the inaugural Colby Summer Institute in Environmental Humanities in August 2019, and a second iteration in August 2021.
For three years I was honored to lead our Faculty Seminar in Environmental Humanities (2017-2020), which set an important institutional precedent for interdisciplinary dialogue, collaboration, and program development.
