Who would I follow on Instagram?
I can tell you it wouldn’t be Silas; his gram would be about as boring as watching paint dry. Same thing with Jordan, her feed would be as dry as spectating a round of golf. The feed of either of the Buchanan’s may be interesting at first, but would quickly become stale. Perhaps Mrs. Corey, but hers probably wouldn’t be unique. A popular choice may be Jay Gatsby; however, I’d find that his feed was too over the top. So, who’s would I end up going with?
I’d have to choose Gatsby’s worldly mentor, Dan Cody. His feed would contain beautiful landscapes, awesome adventures and some dope life lessons and quotes about fulfilling your dreams. That feed would be the perfect one to see when I scroll through my timeline in the morning, half asleep. Whereas George or Myrtle’s pics would be laden with ash and debris, the snapshots Dan meticulously would choose for his perfect Insta would be straight out of paradise. Not only would we be able to see the picturesque ocean view of wherever he docked his yacht, but we would be able to follow him ashore to experience the whole world. It might be cool to follow Penelope and Tom in a foreign country for a little bit, but having a physical house still ties them down. Dan can live wherever he wants, and the surprise and beauty of his next post would captivate me each time.

Going further then this beauty, Dan’s posts would inspire me to live out my own dreams. Mr. Corey’s feed would be the opposite of this and be depressing to look at. Dan recognizes that anyone should be able to do what they love, an inspiring message to see on one’s phone. Dan’s pics would also always be genuine, and true to who he is as a man. I wouldn’t like to see all the hypocrisy that Nick would undoubtedly be hiding in his posts.
Whereas all these characters’ lives wouldn’t be inspiring for a world of square pictures, Dan’s life stands out. He shaped the only man in New York that Nick looked up to and had a penchant for adventure. It’s too bad I won’t be seeing any new posts from him.
