Ok, so I’m poor. Cool… I’ll deal with it.

But how am I gonna slide by making less than minimum wage? Well first things first no pity I can’t deal with that. I would figure it out and keep it moving. After my parents give up on me and kick me out of our trailer home, I would get a job working 25/8 until I scrape up enough money to buy myself a plane ticket to directly to Spain.

I know, I know this makes no sense and sounds boujee as hell at first, but hear me out. Life in Spain is much cheaper and safer. The cost of healthcare is significantly lower in Spain than in the United States. See I’m being responsible here.

Also, they have siesta in Spain, and it is clinically proven that sleep improves happiness.

Okay seriously though, because I am already very poor I would work as an artist selling my art to all the super touristy Americans. This would prove to be a great business venture because Americans will buy absolutely anything from Europe. And we all know the saying “Do what you love, and love what you do,” I love art and I would also love all the people watching the business would bring. Although selling art on a small scale isn’t the most lucrative business it would provide enough profit to buy food, art supplies, and other basic necessities.

In terms of my housing arrangement, I would live in hostels. Hostels in Spain are widely used by backpackers on the Camino de Santiago and are much nicer than similar temporary housing options in the United States. While I wouldn’t love that arrangement I would get used to it and it would allow me to move freely around the Country doing a bit of sightseeing myself. When it comes to transportation, I got it covered. I would just hitch hike. While hitch hiking has a bad stigma in the United states, the Spanish are much less hostile and much more likely to offer a ride. And I would even offer to pay for gas out of common courtesy, but because the Spanish are also much smarter than Americans they will infer from my appearance that obviously can’t provide any compensation.

So basically, I have an absolutely flawless plan worked out. Not only is it fool proof but also jam packed with super fun, enlightening adventures. I won’t have to worry about having a boring 9:00-5:00 desk job or international travel, because I’m already on a lifetime long semester abroad. They say “money can’t buy happiness,” but I think a nomadic life in Spain can.
