Gisele Baroukel of Oran, Algeria, and Howard Miller of Waterville fell in love while he was serving in North Africa during World War II.  In this letter, Gisele writes to her new family for the first time— almost two years before she will move to Waterville and meet her new family. These letters, written to members of Waterville’s Levine family during World War I and World War II, reflect facets of daily life in the army and on the home front.
