Christmas in Maine
Picture 18 of 18
Many of the contributions Jews have made to Maine’s cultural life aren’t Jewish at all. Dahlov Ipcar, who has lived on Georgetown Island since 1937, dedicated this Christmas book to her granddaughter. This book displays Ipcar’s love of her Maine surroundings and her taste for portraying animals and nature. Ipcar’s father, William Zorach, was also a renowned Jewish artist whose work focused on secular rather than Jewish themes.
