What we done did: 

Parth, Viva and Lacey went to the Hume, walked around the lake 

Molly went skiing at Quarry Road

Annie hiked Tumbledown and went ice skating on the little lake

Kristin is going ice skating 

Parth went to Lost Valley 

Eniola went to Lost Valley

 

What we gonna do: 

Next week: Molly and Margaret lead French Mt. and Early Bird

Maybe something on Sunday 

 

Other stuff: 

Ski, glove and snowpants order in the works 

Events: Movie night (St. Patrick’s Day)

Speakers in April– Maine outdoor guide series

Cabin after spring break 

Outdoor Outreach: Thursday afternoons and helping a girl scout troop with outdoor art next week

James went skiing at sugarloaf

Kristin co-lead her first trip (yay) to the eyebrow 

Viva went on a bike ride in the 60 degree weather 

Lindsey had ultimate practice in the burning cold 

Molly went skiing along the narrow gauge trail 

 

What we gonna do: 

TJ and James will be doing a co-lead for TJ

French Mt. and pancakes potentially 

Lacey and Viva lead something on Sunday

Molly went skiing at quarry road and saw Charlie Cobb, a coc alum 

James and Andrew went skiing at sugarloaf on Sunday and Saturday 

Viva went to Acadia and painted on the beach 

Joe wandered around around runnals last night 

Tj went to Baxter yesterday for a hike

Kristin went for a skate on the pond after it rained

 

What we gonna do:

Kristin wants to co-lead (the eyebrow, maiden cliffs, rumford whitecap) 

Sunday Mt Abraham hike 

 

Gear: lots of stuff being checked out— skis are still a bit low 

DEI-

Cabin- Chris is taking over

Sugaring- will be figured out/ sign ups will be sent out this week

Trips- winter training, a few wfa things

Trips: Will be happening once schedules are filled out 

Cabin: Exists, and is in need of cleaning 

Outdoor Outreach: Thursdays, 3-5 there will be teaching sessions (sign up for the email list [email protected])

Will also be helping a girl scout troop with getting badges (Tuesdays in March) 

Waiting to hear back from the Messalonskee Outing Club

What we done did: 

Molly went to quarry road to ski. There were more than two other people. Was beautiful.

Viva also went over to quarry road, was a youth instructor over JanPlan

Chris went cross country skiing at Annie Sturge’s wildlife sanctuary (a bird sanctuary!)

Andrew also went skiing at Sugarloaf

Lacey went for 1 (one) walk in the woods with Joe. Also went once with DT and a few others 

 

What we gonna do: 

WFA training next weekend

Office hours for the spring will be 7-8 M-Th, and F 1-2

Trip descriptions need to be sent in by 6! Pls

Sugaring is gonna happen really soon!

What we done did?

Lindsey went to the opening of the first REI in the state, and got a ton of free stuff (why was I not told this was happening) 

Molly hiked Bald Mt. (the one over by Moscow) 

• Its cool– its a really, really cool mountain

Molly also watched the sunrise 

Hanna walked up Runnals, got caught doing nothing by security 

Hanna also watched the Lion King 

Connor went to the cabin, went canoeing (with kayak paddles) 

Joe went to the arb with some people, did not find the beaver dam

Lacey watched Shrek, and half of Shrek II, which seems outdoor adjacent

 

What we gonna do? 

Potential James and Lindsey collab

Joe might lead a trip to a Rome area mountain with either Alexis or Chris or both 

Molly wants to find a pond to ice skate on in February

Community Outreach: Come talk to Annie Muller if you are interested in outdoor outreach 

• Girl scout hike– in the cards 

DEI: Lacey met with Kayla, and discussed advertising trips in collaboration with other clubs on a weekly basis

• Also talked about how DEI should be in attendance at the Pugh community meetings 

Events: COCsgiving/ take out the dock this Friday

Cabin: It exists and needs cleaning 

Trips: WFA will not be happening before the end of the semester, but will be happening over JanPlan

James and Andrew went to the Avery Peak in the Bigelows: perfect weather (cold enough that you won’t overheat, specifically)

Myself and Joseph went on an LTT with sunrise hike 

Joe also felled some trees with a chainsaw

Chris went for a couple hikes, namely Rumford Whitecap and French Mountain (with Lacey) 

Harry did the Tumbledown loop

Viva had a nice time by the pond yesterday evening 

Lacey did a little bit of outdoor business (pumpkin carving, Johnson Day)

 

What We Gonna Do:

Viva wants to go up Little Jackson and Tumbledown 

Joe wants to go to French
