Hi, I’m Alexis! I live on Long Island, New York (not in Long Island, silly people, on Long Island) with 2 cats, 14 chickens and my parents. I’m an environmental policy major with a math minor who is continuously stressed out about graduating. I love the outdoors because, like I say often, it is hard to be stressed out about life when you are on top of a mountain. Find me to talk about knitting patterns, tea, or the extensive list of movies I have seen and the ones that I am actively working on!

Margaret Staller ’23

Hi- I’m Margaret! I’m from the coast of New Hampshire: 18 miles of salt marsh and tacky beachfront property. I am trying to do as much hiking as possible because I love it, and because I think it is the best way to know a place. My current project are the 4000 footers of Maine. I love to talk about birds and hear foraging tricks. Come on hikes with me and tell me about your pets! I have 3 dogs at home who I miss dearly.

I am an econ major and a philosophy and environmental science minor from Midland Park, New Jersey. Growing up I always loved the outdoors, but did not do much hiking. Since coming to Colby, I’ve done a lot more hikes with Mt. Abraham being my favorite hike. I hope to see you all on hikes soon.

Hi- I’m Jeanie! I’m an Environmental Science and Psychology major, and I’m from San Antonio, Texas. I enjoy being outside, either hiking, ice skating, or biking! I especially love to take pictures of nature while walking. My favorite season is fall, and I enjoy the rainy weather, especially the smell of petrichor. Hi- I’m Viva! I’m an Environmental Science and Studio Art major from Richmond, Vermont (yes, I do drink maple syrup straight from the tap and wear flannel). I love hiking, biking, skiing, and the outdoors in all forms. My least favorite 4000 footer in Maine is Spaulding. My go-to trail foods are Swedish fish and summit pie. Hi I’m Anna! I’m a sophomore from outside Philly. I love all things hiking, skiing, and biking. I recently spent the summer living in the White Mountains doing trail work. Interests: Skiing, hiking, visiting various islands around the coast, pogo-sticking in the COC office and immersing myself in the trees in my free time.

Ahoy! I’m Anya! I am a crunchy Washingtonian who somehow ended up in the middle of nowhere Maine roughly 2,500 miles from home.  I am an avid Colby Squirrel  enthusiast and would love to catch one before I graduate. As a DEI Bigelow buddy I work with other groups on campus to promote outdoor education and diversification of the outdoors. We collaborate with campus communities like FLI/INT and the Pugh Center and will be working to bring speakers to campus to share Penobscot culture, history and understanding of the  landscape of the Penobscot Nation and highlighting Wabanaki voices. We would love your feedback and ideas surrounding ways to promote outdoor education and increase accessibility to the outdoors for students of all backgrounds.

Interests: activities that make me question why I go outside (examples: swimming in the hail or skiing in the pouring rain)

Hi  – I’m Harry! I’m a passionate skier and backpacker who somehow ended up at Colby where no one else likes to do those things. All jokes aside, I love being in the wilderness and getting to try new activities. I lead backpacking trips in the summer in Colorado and enjoy every second I get to be on an adventure. I bring pineapples on a lot of my adventures, always worth the extra weight. Come visit the gear room!

 Hi, I’m Connor! I am an Environmental Policy and Anthropology double major from Poolesville, Maryland, and one of the Gear Bigelow Buddies for this year. I love hiking and backpacking of all kinds, and sometimes like to do really long hikes. I want to explore all of the hiking Maine and beyond has to offer and am super excited to lead trips and help people go out on their own with COC gear. Also, I think the best summit snack is a full pineapple (the weight is worth the reward).

I’m Wilson! I am an outdoorsman to the core and feel at home in the woods. I spent a lot of time growing up on the coast of Maine, where I developed a love for island hopping/camping. I enjoy encouraging others to enjoy the outdoors, and the Outdoor Outreach program I run aims to do just that.

Hi, I’m Julia! I’m a junior from north shore Massachusetts. I love stargazing, finding cool spots, hiking, skiing, and trail running. My favorite surface to stand on barefoot is sand. I always have the best snacks on hikes (tomatoes and goldfish) and a superior taste in music (aka all indie and Taylor Swift).

Ayoo I’m Raghav! I’m a junior from Massachusetts. I’m on the track team and am majoring in Sculpture and something else (Econ?). If you can’t find me in the AC (who’s that named after again?), you can probably find me pogo sticking in the COC office. My favorite meal to make on a Coleman is a burrito bowl with vegan chorizo and some fresh avocado pulp. A fun fact about me? I can sleep anywhere, anytime (it’s actually very impressive).
