Prof. Lindsey Madison

I am theoretical chemist who is broadly interested in how intermolecular interactions manifest in vibrational spectroscopy.  I received my B.A. in Chemistry from Carleton College where I did research with Professor Daniela Kohen on gas diffusion in zeolites.  I received my Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Northwestern University. At Northwestern, I worked with Professors George Schatz and Mark Ratner to study the electronic structure and light absorption of silver nanoclusters and organic molecules bound to the surface.  As a postdoc at the University of Washington, I worked with Professor Anne McCoy and studied anharmonic vibrations in weakly interacting molecular systems such as protonated water clusters.   I joined the faculty at Colby College in 2018.   In my free time, I enjoy rock climbing,  hiking with my dog, and running on the beautiful trails around Waterville.
