Erin Sheets is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Colby College, where she teaches courses in introductory psychology, statistics and research methods, psychological disorders, clinical interventions, emotion, and creativity. Her research interests focus on college mental health, particularly on the course of depression and prevention of depression during the transition to college. Dr. Sheets also worked as a licensed clinical psychologist at a private practice in Brunswick, Maine from 2017 – 2021.
Erin Sheets received her A.B. in Psychology and Spanish from Duke University in 2001. She then attended graduate school at the University of Colorado at Boulder, completing her M.A. in 2004 and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2008. After completing a predoctoral internship in adult clinical psychology at Brown University, Dr. Sheets received specialized training as a postdoctoral fellow in mood disorders and perinatal mental health at Brown University and Butler Hospital. She joined the faculty of Colby College in Fall 2010.
