Who We Are
The CMEC was founded during the fall of 2024 by members of the Colby College Education Department and the Lunder School of Education at Thomas College. Our consortium members come from a number of educational organizations and institutions from Waterville, Winslow, Fairfield, Benton, Oakland and beyond!
CMEC MISSION STATEMENT
The Central Maine Education Consortium (CMEC) is a network of Central Maine educators whose mission is to collaborate, inspire, and support growth throughout our educational community.
The CMEC aims to:
- Promote collaboration across the Central Maine educational landscape
- Elevate the teaching profession and provide support to Central Maine educators
- Bolster PreK-12 student engagement, academic achievement, and attendance in the Central Maine region
- Develop a collaborative model that demonstrates effective partnership between universities, schools and communities in rural settings.
