Changing your profile:
You can post under your class nickname by selecting “Edit My Profile” on the top right of the screen, under where it says “Howdy.” Enter your nickname where it says “Nickname” then change “Display name publicly as” to this nickname. You can also upload an avatar to your profile (WordPress will accept gif, jpg, and png images.)
Creating a Post:
Once you are logged into your class site, find the grey bar at the top of your screen. To add a post click the “+New” drop down menu and choose “post.”
Enter your title in the appropriate location, then paste your text into the box below. You can add links by highlighting text and clicking on the icon that looks like a paperclip. In order to save your post, you must hit the blue Update button on the right.
You can add a figure by first loading up your image file: choose Media on the Dashboard and then Add New. Return to your post, choose the location where you wish to add the figure, and click Add Media. Find your image, select it, and choose “Insert into page”. Make sure you hit the Update button again to save your changes.
Finishing your Post:
Once you have completed the content for your post, you need to define CATEGORIES for it. Categories are a way to organize and identify your posts. They allow readers to search for posts on your site, and they enable search engines to “find” your content.
All posts must have at least one category associated with them. There are categories for each weekly assignment (found on the lower right of the page); please choose the correct one for your post.
