In 1978, Professors Charles W. Jefford (University of Geneva, Switzerland) and Curt Wentrup (then at the Universität Marburg, Germany) brought together physical organic chemists from around the world to Geneva for a Euchem Conference on Electron-Deficient Intermediates. That conference began a series of regular meetings that has since morphed into the International Symposium on Reactive Intermediates and Unusual Molecules (ISRIUM). The latest meeting in this series was the 7th Heron Island Conference on Reactive Intermediates and Unusual Molecules in the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia organized by Professors Wentrup and Craig Williams (University of Queensland) in July 2016.
Das Thamattoor organized an ISRIUM in Sorrento, Italy in the summer of 2017 (June 18-22). Please click here for more information about ISRIUM 2017.
