Welcome Message from the Director
A warm welcome to the new Farnham Writers’ Center (FWC) website! We updated it to make the writing resources we offer more accessible to Colby students and faculty.
The FWC is a place for you to get skilled feedback on your writing. Our peer writing tutors have experience working with Colby’s diverse student populations, and they are eager to engage you in collaborative conversations about your writing. To that end, we welcome brainstorming, outlines, rough drafts, revisions, and any writing-related questions about content, structure, argument, grammar, and style.
To help build your autonomy as a writer, the FWC does not offer any copy-editing services; instead, our writing tutors work with you to locate “patterns of error” that might need your further attention. Your assignment, subject area, and objectives will shape the session, but our goal remains constant: to help you become “better writers,”* not to simply produce “better writing”*.
