In addition, Caleb provides thoughtful, in-depth answers that demonstrate a combination of emotion, personal experience, and cultural knowledge.

Caleb and I have been close friends since I arrived at Colby, bonding over shared experiences on the Colby Baseball team and our older brothers having been teammates throughout their college baseball careers. Caleb and I conducted this interview over Zoom so that we could both secure and coordinate quiet settings to ensure the best environment for this interview while using headphones with high-quality external microphones to record our historical conversations.

This interview was conducted by Cole Tully, a third-year Government and History major at Colby College who is interested in foreign policy, U.S. history, and the many fascinating elements of East Asian history.
