The program was organized and led by Tanya Sheehan, William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Art and the Lunder Institute\u2019s Director of Research and Distinguished Scholar for 2019\u201320. A unique feature of this non-residential program is that each scholar was assigned a Colby student to serve remotely as a Research Assistant for the academic year. The pairings proved successful, evidenced by the numerous occasions when the Research Fellows highlighted the Colby students\u2019 contributions during the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colby.edu\/lunderinstitute\/2020\/04\/07\/research-symposium-art-by-african-americans\/\">Lunder Institute Research Symposium<\/a>&nbsp;held on March 13.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Carter Wynne \u201920, Katie Herzig \u201920, Jane MacKerron \u201920, and Olivia Hochstadt \u201921 reflect on their experiences working to support the Research Fellows program.
