The reports make up\u00a0one of two senior capstone courses in the Environmental Studies Major at Colby.\u00a0The first State of Maine\u2019s Environment Report was produced in 2004 and this year marks the eight State of Maine\u2019s Environment Report completed over the past decade.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/files\/2012\/09\/Ttttt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-437\" src=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/files\/2012\/09\/Ttttt-783x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Ttttt\" width=\"300\" height=\"392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/files\/2012\/09\/Ttttt-783x1024.jpg 783w, https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/files\/2012\/09\/Ttttt-229x300.jpg 229w, https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/files\/2012\/09\/Ttttt.jpg 789w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <em>State of Maine\u2019s Environment\u00a02014<\/em> report examines\u00a0five\u00a0topics of importance to Maine:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/the-state-of-municipal-waste-in-maine\/\">Municipal Solid Waste<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"The State of Alternative Transportation\" href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/the-state-of-alternative-transport\/\">Alternative Transportation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/the-state-of-maine-islands\/\">Maine Islands<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/the-state-of-island-and-coastal-wildlife\/\">Coastal and Island Wildlife<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/stateofmaine2014\/the-state-of-big-game-species\/\">Big Game Species<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For each issue, we explore the history and current state of the topic, the laws and regulations which directly influence it, the stakeholders involved involved in the area, and the implications of our findings.
