Although it closed less than two years later, McGovern continued to show his love for the beer industry by continuing to brew at Belfast Bay Brewing and Marshall Wharf Brewing. After successfully opening Monhegan Brewing with his daughter Mary Weber and her husband Matt, McGovern and his family decided to reopen Lake St. George Brewing Company in 2017, where McGovern would train his daughter Elizabeth Johnston to become head brewer.
