Defying conventional notions of still life, which imply stability and permanence, the work speaks to a time when traditional categories and cultural definitions are no longer holding their shape. What should be solid fractures into something surreal, petals suspended in impossible space, glass that reveals more than it contains. The images echo a world in flux; still lifes that won\u2019t stay still. Yet, despite their states of collapse, they carry a message of hopefulness and persistence. Familiar subjects of the genre, flowers and vases have historically been coded as feminine, the vessel a metaphor for the womb, the flower symbolic of beauty, youth, and the life cycle. In this series, both associations are disrupted. These still lifes unravel at their edges. What emerges is something more ambiguous and inclusive, reflective of today\u2019s shifting boundaries.
