The farm is owned by and the headquarters of the Maine Audubon Society. I often go for walks there and on this one day in 1988, I made a series of eight photographs on the same roll of medium-format (2.25-square inch) film. As soon as I began photographing, I noticed that I was looking down on the ground, and up and across into the trees. Therefore, I instinctively decided that I would consciously follow this inclination as it pretty much defines how we look when we go for a walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a photographer, I am always conscious of and intrigued by light. Without light, there is no photograph. The root of the word photography is light. Photo = light and graphy = drawing.
