Asked about this show’s theme of Light, Lois Dodd declared: “All paintings are about light.” About Tunnel Rt. 94, she added: “There are quite a few tunnels in this part of New Jersey with abandoned railroad tracks on top. Great subject matter to paint looking through the tunnel to the light ahead.” David Dewey, another artist who has painted these tunnels with Dodd, confirmed that this painting is of a tunnel on Route 94, in Columbia, NJ.
