My work, by its nature, appears to be in a state of flux. Moving intuitively, constantly, and rhythmically. Like visual jazz, it is constructed by improvisation. It reflects the constantly changing elements of wind, sea, and sky as well as the fractured rock walls of canyons.
Tall Red is open to interpretation. For me, it is partially a canyon, partially a field. Both of these, yet neither as well. I like this canvas size as it travels up and down well.
In the Grove, refers to a beautiful stand of trees by the house that partially masks the changing sky, as different colors and intensities of light show through the green pine and spruce.
