{"id":1776,"date":"2022-08-03T11:49:33","date_gmt":"2022-08-03T15:49:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/islandcampus\/?p=1776"},"modified":"2024-03-19T19:50:11","modified_gmt":"2024-03-19T23:50:11","slug":"computer-science-lab-group-collects-data-for-virtual-island-campus-model","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/islandcampus\/2022\/08\/03\/computer-science-lab-group-collects-data-for-virtual-island-campus-model\/","title":{"rendered":"Computer Science Lab Group Collects Data for Virtual Island Campus Model"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Stacy Doore, professor of Computer Science, and her lab group \u2013 Allen Harper, Stephanie Rothenberg, Adaobi Nebuwa, Giang Pham, Michelle Phan, Andy Xu, Narit Trikasemsak, and Saki Imai \u2013 did a two-night stay on the island in late July to collect data for their Allen Island Digital Twin Project. Their project aims to create the infrastructure for a virtual model of Colby\u2019s Island Campus that combines scientific datasets, interactive features, and artistic representations of the island environment. The model can then be used for teaching, research, and community engagement by a variety of Colby stakeholders.
