{"id":1723,"date":"2022-07-07T14:23:29","date_gmt":"2022-07-07T18:23:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/islandcampus\/?page_id=1723"},"modified":"2022-07-25T12:02:31","modified_gmt":"2022-07-25T16:02:31","slug":"island-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/islandcampus\/island-vehicles\/","title":{"rendered":"Island Vehicles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Island Campus has several trucks and a golf cart available to support island programing. &nbsp; We follow Colby&#8217;s Waterville campus procedures for driving for that require all students and employees to become Colby Certified Operators and adhere to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colby.edu\/humanresources\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/170\/2022\/02\/Colby-Fleet-Safety-Program-2022.docx.pdf\">Colby\u2019s Fleet Safety Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Golf Cart Specific Rules:<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 11\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>For student operators of off-road type vehicles, such as golf carts and\/or&nbsp;utility type vehicles, the student must be 18, have a driver\u2019s license, and complete driver familiarization training administered by the Safety Director or his\/her designee (Jake Ward or Doug Saunders for the Island Campus). Carts may only be used on campus for official Colby business.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Once training is complete, the student operators must review, sign, and comply at all times with the operator requirements listed in Appendix C, Golf Cart Safety at Colby College.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Colby will not tolerate deviations from the operator requirements, and students observed operating the golf carts in violation of Appendix C will receive one warning before losing operator privileges.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For employees driving off-road type vehicles, including tractors, gators, lawn mowers, and other work vehicles, training is conducted by the department supervisor(s) or their designeee.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Island Campus has several trucks and a golf cart available to support island programing. &nbsp; We follow Colby&#8217;s Waterville campus procedures for driving for that require all students and employees to become Colby Certified Operators and adhere to Colby\u2019s Fleet Safety Policy.
