Lauren Cohen Fisher, Advisor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lauren Cohen Fisher<\/em> is thrilled to be Colby’s Hillel advisor as well as one of the faculty members of the Jewish Studies Department, where she teaches classes about Israel and the Israeli\/Palestinian conflict. Lauren joins Colby after years at Hillel International’s Center for Jewish and Israel Education. Lauren received her BA in Government and Creative Writing from Colby and her MA in Security\/Diplomacy Studies from Tel Aviv University. She is over the moon to be back on Mayflower Hill. When not singing niggunim (Jewish wordless tunes) to herself as she lesson plans, Lauren can be found hiking, gathering community for Shabbat dinners, or mailing handwritten letters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Isabelle \u201cIzzy\u201d Kanefsky<\/em> is a sophomore from Stamford, Conn. double majoring in Environmental Science and Jewish Studies. You can often find her playing volleyball and spikeball on the Miller lawn, reading both novels and Torah, and hanging out in the Hillel room with a bag of Trader Joe\u2019s snacks. She is super amped to build a joyful and welcoming community as Hillel co-president this year, and can\u2019t wait to see everyone at Shabbat dinner!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jo Scher ’26 <\/strong>

Jo Scher<\/em> is a senior from New York City majoring in Psychology and Global Studies\/Global Health with a minor in music. She enjoys playing flute in the orchestra, singing in the Colbyettes, and volunteering at the local elementary and high schools. Her favorite Hillel moments include cooking Shabbat dinners with friends, going apple picking, and attending the Fall Shabbaton. She also spent a summer working for the Center for Small Town Jewish Life. Jo is looking forward to continuing as Hillel co-president and welcoming in both new and old faces this year!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
