Hello all! Today was a great day for the gang.<\/p>\n

Woke up to a great breakfast, during which we (I) found out that there will be bacon for breakfast every day (!!!!!), it didn’t end up raining aside from a two-minute-long episode this AM, and the mopeds didn’t just come on time– they came early!<\/p>\n

We spent around an hour getting a feel for them around the BIOS driveway, then went for a jaunt around St. George’s. The mopeds were awesome…. Never before have I been on a vehicle that makes 25 mph feel like you’re going breakneck.<\/p>\n

We stopped at Martello tower, where I watched others find what would have been my first geocache (don’t worry, Bruce helped me find one later in the day), and looked around that area. I found a cute little limestone pocket with two gatherings of massive chitons and West Indian topshells. Pictures to come whenever Ethan uploads his (mine don’t do them justice). They were precious though.<\/p>\n

Anyway, after heading out from the fort and around St. George’s we came back for a great lunch, after which an awesome afternoon awaited us! (I am sure others will blog about it though.)<\/p>\n

One quick note on the afternoon: found what may be parrotfish teeth marks on rocks much higher up than one would expect them to be…. parrotfish gnaw on rocks to get at algae and corals and other marine delicacies, and leave markings on the rocks.. these were on rocks about 10 feet above water, and high tide definitely doesn’t make it up there. Just interesting. If anyone thinks they know more about it please let me know!<\/p>\n
