{"id":71,"date":"2011-01-21T23:25:28","date_gmt":"2011-01-22T03:25:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/galapagos\/?p=71"},"modified":"2011-01-25T18:26:57","modified_gmt":"2011-01-25T22:26:57","slug":"back-in-quito","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/galapagos\/2011\/01\/21\/back-in-quito\/","title":{"rendered":"Back in Quito"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Where did the time go?\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to believe today is our sixth day on the Galapagos.\u00a0 We boarded a bus for the dock in Puerto Villamil at 7 AM, hopped into water taxis to two bigger boats, rode for 2.5 hours to Puerto Ayora.\u00a0 Water taxis took us to the dock where a bus picked us up for the ride to the north end of Santa Cruz island.\u00a0 We got on a short ferry to the adjacent island of Baltra where an airport is located.\u00a0 We saw two Land Iguanas there, the only ones we saw on the trip. (<a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/galapagos\/files\/2011\/01\/Land-iguana.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-118\" src=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/galapagos\/files\/2011\/01\/Land-iguana-300x212.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/galapagos\/files\/2011\/01\/Land-iguana-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/galapagos\/files\/2011\/01\/Land-iguana.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The one pictured is underneath a parked truck!)
