Mufaddal Ali is a Psych-Neuro and Computer Science double major from Pakistan. His interest in data science comes from his interdisciplinary approach to understanding data; his CS classes prepared him to analyze data, and his psychology training taught him to contextualize and communicate this information. Inspired by the liberal arts spirit, Mufaddal found Q: Data Science Group to increase student engagement in this interdisciplinary field, and to help provide exposure to those willing to explore the world of data science!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My name is Kaili Blazon and I am a senior at Colby with a major in Mathematical Sciences: Statistics and a minor in Creative Writing. At Colby I play wing for the Colby Women\u2019s Rugby Football Club, am a member of Colby Dancers, Colby Cares about Kids and Women in Math and Computer Science. I am also a teacher’s assistant and tutor for Introduction to Statistics and work at the athletic center. Outside of school my hobbies include reading, writing, tennis, horseback riding, skiing and traveling. I\u2019ve been to 28 countries and have done things like see the northern lights, kiss a giraffe and study abroad in Sweden and Italy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My name is Collins Kibet and I\u2019m a junior at Colby College studying Computer Science and Mathematical Sciences with a concentration in Statistics. At Colby I take part in many different activities. I serve as the student liaison of the Colby African Society;\u00a0I’m a member of the Cross Country and Track teams; and I\u2019m also a member of the student athletes of color council. I also work at the front desk of the museum and in the athletic center. Recently, I\u2019ve also been involved with the newly formed Colby Data Science club as the curriculum coordinator. I help familiarize club members with data science skills of manipulating data. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

My name is Faith Cournoyer and I am sophomore at Colby College majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Data Science. At Colby I am a member of Colby Cares about Kids, Colby Student Investment Association, and Women in Finance. In my free time I enjoy skiing, surfing, sailing, squash, and horseback riding. I am the Head of Community Outreach for the newly formed Q: Colby Data Science Group and I am very excited to gain experience in the field of Data Science, as well as share my knowledge with others!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dhruv is from India and is a senior majoring in Computer Science and Statistics. Aside from studying Machine Learning & Data Science in courses, Dhruv has gained valuable experience through internships and projects in Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision. In his free time, Dhruv enjoys playing the drums and learning new sports.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tahseen is a current junior at Colby College majoring in Economics and Mathematical Sciences. He co-founded Q: Colby Data Science Group alongside Mufaddal because of the recognized importance of data literacy. Prior to Q, Tahseen worked with the Colby Consulting Group on projects with local businesses including Gifford\u2019s Famous Ice Cream as well as Holy Cannoli. His current skills include Tableau, SQL, STATA & R and he hopes to further develop his knowledge of data science with his peers as part of Q. He is currently working as an Associate at Empowerment Capital<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
