\nDear\u00a0Don & Jane \u2013-<\/p>\n

On the flip side, please find recent poem.<\/p>\n

Have belatedly discovered, through CSC Calendars
\nthat friends have mailed, about the readings you
\nboth did in Alumnae Lounge. Colby is lucky. I\u2019m
\nsorry I missed them.<\/p>\n

All is well here, Classes have started once
\nagain, but I seem to have time withal to
\nwrite. Am still working on translations of
\npoems by Gonzalo Rojas \u2013 Also have been helping
\nMiriam Diaz w\/ Adrienne Rich translations.<\/p>\n

Won\u2019t be long now, Don, before I teach
\n\u201cStone Walls\u201d \u2013 which, as I say, I like in revision
\n(it seems more coherent, among other things) \u2013 still,
\nI miss some of the images in the earlier version
\nthat I\u2019ve dug out & reread. It\u2019s painful
\nsometimes, isn\u2019t it, what one has to throw away?<\/p>\n

Jane, how\u2019s the book going? Hope all
\nis well with you both in your respective
\nenterprises. Oh \u2013 forgot to mention, Don, how
\nvery much I liked your Frost chapter of
\nRemembering Poets<\/span>, whose I recently read in
\nCommentary<\/span>. I walked around with it in my head
\nfor days (should I say daze?). I will write more about it later, but honestly it was just
\nwonderful. For now, I am compelled to finish this up so it\u2019ll make the Sat. afternoon mail-<\/p>\n

the girl on wood crutches
