I hope that by the time you get this, he<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">has<\/span> called. What he meant by getting what he called<br \/>\na \u201cprecis\u201d from you to show the governor, I couldn\u2019t<br \/>\nguess. I assume he meant \u201cresume\u201d, as if<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">you<\/span> needed to present anything of the kind!<\/p>\n<p>I am <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">delighted<\/span> about the Colby-Sawyer thing.<br \/>\nI\u2019m not on the honorary degrees committee, but<br \/>\nI\u2019ve been lobbying (for you) and passing information along<br \/>\nto faculty members who <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">are<\/span> on the committee for<br \/>\nthe past couple of years anyway. It has bothered<br \/>\nme that they\u2019ve been so stuck on giving honorary<br \/>\ndegrees to women, they\u2019ve failed to see how <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">obvious<\/span><br \/>\nyou are as a choice. You\u2019ve been on the list<\/p>\n<p>2\/<\/p>\n<p>of possibilities for some time now, in fact; thus,<br \/>\nI\u2019ve felt that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">eventually<\/span> you\u2019d be chosen, and<br \/>\nI was hoping for this year. I\u2019m <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">very<\/span> glad<br \/>\nit has finally happened.<\/p>\n<p>I do hope your time with your mother goes well.<br \/>\nHow lucky you are to be able to be with her<br \/>\nfor a couple of weeks!
