Dear Don,<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sorry to hear that Jane can\u2019t ride comfortably.
\nThat leaves out plans for a dinner–for now, anyway.
\nBut yes, maybe we could get together sometime soon. I hope so.<\/p>\n

You ask whether you now have any poems that are
\nforthcoming in the book. I assume you know that \u201cAfter
\nthe Ice\u201d is in the book, since I sent you a revised
\ncopy of the manuscript with that poem in the last section.
\nNone of the other poems you have is in the book. And yes,
\nI have gotten permission to reprint all poems previously
\npublished.<\/p>\n

Just to make sure about which poems you should have,
\nI offer the following list of titles which are not in the
\nbook, or in any magazine thus far: When Paul Flew Away;
\nThe Portuguese Dictionary (you ask, \u201cWhat about The Portuguese?\u201d–
\nI meant this poem); My Brother Inside the Revolving
\nDoors; The Before People; The Minister\u2019s Death; The Faith
\nHealer; Remembering Aprons; Killing the Animals; The Last
\nTime Shorty Towers Fetched the Cows.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m curious: Are there no reservations about<\/p>\n

The Faith Healer? I did revise it some<\/span> after you wrote
\nyour misgivings about the poem this past summer. But
\nI will remember the misgivings–<\/p>\n

Well. If there are none now, about this or
\nany of the other poems, I\u2019d love to have Joey
\nsend them out.<\/p>\n

Please give dear, ailing Jane a pat from us.<\/p>\n

PS–Neurotically enough, I\u2019m curious if I remembered
\nto put an exclamation point after the word
\n\u201cinclusion\u201d in the third-from-last stanza of
\nRemembering Aprons. I note that I didn\u2019t have one
\nin the copy I typed for myself. Would you please check?<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
