Since he was<br \/>\nwriting his letter <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">before<\/span> the last revision of the book,<br \/>\nI think I have an outside chance there for more<br \/>\nthan a \u201cyes rejection\u201d&#8211;the note of praise saying<br \/>\nno, of the sort I received from Pitt yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>I <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">did<\/span> send Costanzo the last revision, by the<br \/>\nway, saying that I knew he couldn\u2019t do anything about<br \/>\nit at that time, but that I wanted him to<br \/>\nsee it in its new form. (No answer from him<\/p>\n<p>2\/<\/p>\n<p>about that.)<\/p>\n<p>If Constanzo doesn\u2019t take it, I guess I will<br \/>\njust stop sending it to the places I\u2019ve been trying<br \/>\nfor the past four years. More of the same would<br \/>\nbe all that would happen.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings me to my question: Are there<br \/>\nalternatives beyond the ones I\u2019ve been trying?<br \/>\nI am reluctant still to send the thing to small<br \/>\npresses because such publication often does not<br \/>\nlead to exposure, jobs or grants for new writing<br \/>\ntime. But there\u2019s always Greywolf, I suppose<br \/>\n(assuming they\u2019d be interested), and maybe<br \/>\nthere are others\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Well. Please let know about this whenever<br \/>\nyou can. In the meantime, I will continue<br \/>\nto write.
