I cannot believe that you have forgotten!<br \/>\nLast year you were astonished when I told you that publication<br \/>\nin the Concord Monitor \u2013 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">or any publication<\/span> \u2013 precluded re-pub-<br \/>\nlication in almost any magazine that paid anything or took<br \/>\nitself seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Of course that remains true for [this one]. It matters not<br \/>\nat all what the director of the \u201cWillory Farm Poetry Contest\u201d<br \/>\ntells you. Very decent of him, I am sure, not to mind your<br \/>\nreprinting it \u2013 but the point is that the magazines are not<br \/>\nin the business of reprinting from other publications! This<br \/>\nis really too bad, because it is a poem that I am sure that<br \/>\nwe could have sold. In return for a fifth prize, we lose<br \/>\nthe poem.<\/p>\n<p>Just to be clear. The fact that the present publisher<br \/>\nof a poem tells you that there is no problem about reprinting<br \/>\nit tells you absolutely nothing about whether somebody else<br \/>\nwill want to print it under these circumstances or not.
