Or<br \/>\nyou could build the epigraph into a stanza, maybe. Or \u2013 I<br \/>\nreally think \u2013 the poem could hold up without it, including<br \/>\nthe parts that you quote.<\/p>\n<p>Do write to Peter Davison to tell him that he will<br \/>\nreceive your poems from the folks down at Amaryllis\u2026<\/p>\n<p>It <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\";>does<\/span> seem typical of Griffith that he would be<br \/>\nable to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\";>conceive<\/span> of the notion that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\";>eighty<\/span> poets will \u201cwin<br \/>\ngrowing recognition in the decade ahead!\u201d  How absurd.  There<br \/>\nare not eighty poets in American literature!  There were not<br \/>\neighty poets in the Elizabethan Age! <\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t think that anybody is going to read the<br \/>\nanthology much\u2026 But I don\u2019t<br \/>\nthink it will hurt you to be in it.  I would send him <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\";>only<\/span><br \/>\npoems which have previously been printed.  It would be absolutely<br \/>\ncrazy to waste an unprinted poem on him.  Therefore I would<br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\";>not<\/span> send the whole book.  You could just remove the unpublished<br \/>\npoems from it.
