Sutton, NH 03260<\/p>\n<p>Dear Wes,<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks for your good long letter about the poems.<br \/>\nI\u2019m delighted that you like the \u201c6 October\u2026\u201d I sent these<br \/>\nout to a good number of people, and I guess that most of<br \/>\nthe people whose opinion I respect like this one best. It<br \/>\ngoes over big at poetry readings! (Believe me, I do say<br \/>\nthat with the sense of the ghoulish\u2026) And Robert Bly thinks<br \/>\nit is probably one of the worst ones ever written, etc. I<br \/>\nsort of knew he would. He is crazy about anything connected<br \/>\nwith my father\u2026 I mean sort of insane. Still, you have to<br \/>\nwonder\u2026 I am really glad that you like it.<\/p>\n<p>I take most seriously your suggestions about revision<br \/>\nAnd will keep them with the poems to keep looking at your<br \/>\nSuggestions. I know that the Chickens poem will change.<\/p>\n<p>I am not quite sure what seems unrealized in \u201cThe<br \/>\nGlass\u201d now. You wanted me to break the first stanza into<br \/>\ntwo parts, but you did not make any other suggestions. Can<br \/>\nyou make any further suggestions about this one?
