But Joe gave us<br \/>\nan excellent breakfast.<br \/>\n<span style=\"margin-left: 28px;\">This<\/span> noon our horses came<br \/>\nup. Mine looked gaunt enough,<br \/>\nthough in pretty good condition.<br \/>\nThis afternoon it was determined<br \/>\nto send out a picket force, and<br \/>\nLt. Wead, myself and a guide who was<br \/>\nformerly in the Rebel army went out<br \/>\nto reconnoitre. [sic]<br \/>\n<span style=\"margin-left: 28px;\">We<\/span> rode about six miles.<br \/>\nThe guide showed us the place<br \/>\nto which the Prince William cavalry<br \/>\npursued him last evening.
