I fear<br \/>\nwe have delayed too long already. I want to<br \/>\nhand it to the printer Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion has been opened already by<br \/>\nthe Lewiston Journal and Boston Advertiser.<br \/>\nBoth these papers have recently printed editorials<br \/>\nIn favor of co-education and dissenting from<br \/>\nthe new plan. Now, if we can speak and speak<br \/>\nenergetically, it will, I feel sure, produce a good<br \/>\neffect upon <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">public opinion<\/span>, at least.<\/p>\n<p>It seems that the public are just waking up<br \/>\nto see what has been done and it looks as if<br \/>\nPres. Small is not going to do this and remain<br \/>\nuncriticized. We shall have more help <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">after<\/span><br \/>\nwe speak, I feel almost sure.<\/p>\n<p>Now, please do let us have your hearty<br \/>\nco-operation and let us all act at once.<br \/>\nI wish you would return the paper on<br \/>\nSaturday. That will give me a little time<br \/>\nto make any alterations that may be necessary.<br \/>\nA word about your criticism of my point<br \/>\nof view. I argue it on the ground of the<br \/>\nhome life and for married women <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">because he does<\/span>.<br \/>\nIf I can show him that co-education and<br \/>\nthe present course of study result in quality ben-<br \/>\nefits <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to the home life<\/span> I answer his argument<br \/>\nmore <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">effectively<\/span>. Don\u2019t you see? I say after-<br \/>\nwards that there is no <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">need<\/span> of arguing for<br \/>\nthe benefits to society as everybody knows<br \/>\nthat an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">educated<\/span> woman\u2019s sphere is necess-<br \/>\narily wider than the home. He won\u2019t admit<br \/>\nthat, of course, and so why waste words on<\/p>\n<p>that part of the argument.
