Guy Hain, French collector, dealer, and publisher, is the author of at least four thousand fake bronze castings of sculptures worth more than $60 million. Hain faked the work of ninety-eight artists, including Constantin Brancusi, Jean Arp, Alberto Giacometti, Jean-Antoine Houdon, Honor\u00e9 Daumier, Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, Antoine Bourdelle, Aristide Maillol, and Camille Claudel. In January 1992, police inspectors from Dijon arrested Hain and seized about twenty metric tons of bronze sculptures in various foundries in Burgundy and Paris. On 17 January 1996, Hain appeared in court in Lure. On 28 June 28 1997, he was sentenced to four years in jail but served only eighteen months. He was again arrested in the early 2000s.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
