{"id":2664,"date":"2012-05-02T00:26:46","date_gmt":"2012-05-02T04:26:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/?page_id=2664"},"modified":"2012-05-20T20:52:06","modified_gmt":"2012-05-21T00:52:06","slug":"alternatives-to-globalization-anthropological-analysis","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/alternatives-to-globalization-anthropological-analysis\/","title":{"rendered":"Anthropological Analysis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anthropology gives us an educated lens through which to look at the problems of our society.\u00a0 It allows us to not only critique the exploitative forces of globalization and neoliberal capitalism, but to also envision pathways towards a better world. \u00a0Anthropology \u00a0enables us to understand, critique, and also create alternatives to globalization.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAnthropological research&#8230;can offer a kind of evidence-based idealism, a utopianism that\u2019s hard headed and founded firmly in observations of diverse communities, not contrived in a sheltered cloister or from untested principles.
